Fashion in the field
There is nothing more stunning than seeing a sea of beautifully crafted attire and hats, coming through the gates of any racing arena. The Riccarton Races could not have shown a better example of this than at the Fashion in the Field, on Saturday the 14th of November.
Let’s be honest, any race is far more interesting when fashion is involved and we bet Fashion Co-ordinator for Riccarton Cup, Angela Stone, would agree. Angela has yet again; put together a spectacular year of Fashion in the Field for any race goers wanting to show cast their style. Angela picked a perfect day for the catwalk, with light winds to keep all the race goers cool while the sun helped the flocks to shine.
The stakes were high this year and the power to stun the judges with a fashion statement was expected to win the grand prize- a trip for five nights at the Millennium Hotel in L.A for two, courtesy of Mondo World Travellers. Eleanor Campbell wore a simplistic white flock paired with confidence was named the day’s Best Dressed Woman, and Gunthar Rowe was awarded honours for Best Dressed Man.
While the race has come to an end, as for Angela- her planning and ideas for next year’s race has just begun. With Angela as the Fashion Co-ordinator, the race fashion events can only be bigger and better, we cannot wait for another spectacular year at the races with Angela Stone.
