For many women, makeup is more than simply part of their daily routine. It’s an art, a confident booster and for me – a daily necessity.
Without, at the very least, a touch of powder and a dash of mascara, I just don’t quite feel ready to tackle the day. Unfortunately, as I’m always on the go, this requires me to take my makeup with me at all times.
As of late, my tote bag was starting to resemble a standard carry-on, weighed down by bronzer, foundation, concealer and lipsticks.
In an attempt to free myself of this burden, I purchased Thin Lizzy’s 6in1 Professional Powder. This makeup product is well-known with New Zealand women for its versatility and yet I was still surprised with how many ways I could use it! Now, the makeup in my bag is limited to a mascara, my Thin Lizzy and of course, a red lipstick.
For a busy modern woman, no bag is complete without a few simple makeup products that can be used in various ways. Ditch the clutter and minimise!
Why Buy Authentic?
They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. But when does it make sense to buy the authentic original?
For some purchases, more so than others, I strongly believe that only the original brand will suffice. For me, this includes certain products such as an IPhone. Despite all the imitations out there that look exactly the same, consumers still lean toward buying the original. Moreover, a cheap imitation can often cost in the long run as it is more likely to break down.
When it comes to furniture, I feel very much the same way. While part of this is due to the overall look and feel of an original design, it is also a quality issue.
Many knock-offs have a lower cost for a reason. The material used is often low quality and unlikely to last long-term.
However, my latest household addition was a stunning Canasta’13 outdoor chair by B&B Italia. I picked it up at Matisse in Parnell and it’s quality, and their attentive customer service, is what had me sold.
So, before you consider buying that oh-so-cheap replica Eames chair, consider investing in the original to get the look and quality you deserve.
Creating Good Energy
I’ve always liked the idea of good energy, from the people I surround myself with to the choices I make as a consumer. The more I talk about it, the more I find that it truly is a well-loved phenomenon in New Zealand.
Free range chicken, palm oil free chocolate are all popular options for the modern New Zealand shopper. As a consumer, I love to be given the choice to decide how I want to spend my money, particularly so I can seek local businesses to support.
With these principles guiding many of my product choices, I try to do the same for any services I require. A friend recommended Prime Energy to me, due to it’s boutique nature and attentive staff. Furthermore, after doing some research, I discovered Prime Energy’s focus on renewable energy solutions.
I was very impressed by the tailored approach and excellent customer service I received when creating an energy solution that works for me.
We choose to support local in so many ways through our everyday living. So why not with energy?
