Struggling to sell your home, or just don’t know where to begin? Meet the 2017 Honorary Elite Performer of the Black Realty Group, Hannah Zou. Hannah has been a realtor in the luxury property market industry for nearly five years and has been behind some of New Zealand’s most high profile and successful deals. She is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin and helps all her clients achieve their property market goals, whether it’s to invest or buy property. We sat down with Hannah to discuss her experiences and also to find out how she can make our experience in the property market easier.
What experience do you have as a realtor?
I have been a realtor for nearly five years, and I have 20 year’s experience in international business, marketing, and investment industries. This equips me with the knowledge from multiple industries that helps to ensure my clients get the best results possible through the use of multiple techniques. For example, the international experience I have in marketing is particularly useful for clients who want to reach potential investors who’re outside New Zealand both efficiently and cost-effectively. Being fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin is also a perk that helps to drive my client’s results.
How do you help your clients sell or invest in a property that suits their needs?
By establishing a strong and communicative relationship with them. This is done by listening to my client’s needs, and also through having a large understanding of different cultural needs. My fluency in three different languages really helps to break down barriers, particularly with those who aren’t fluent in English but want to embrace the Kiwi lifestyle while staying true to their roots.
I also heavily focus on all properties that are listed with me and continuously research the area so that I am always up to date with any changes, allowing me to provide better insights to the market in those areas.
What are the most common questions you’re asked by clients?
The questions I am most commonly asked are usually the easiest to answer but are almost always a deciding factor for clients.
- How much does the vendor want and are they flexible on this price?
- Is the property freehold?
- What’s the school zone?
What’s the most satisfying part of your job?
The most satisfying part of my job is delivering my clients both vendors and investors the best result they can achieve and seeing the happiness they get from those results. A happy client is a happy relator!
Any advice for those looking to buy their first home or invest in another?
My advice would be that any time is a good time to invest in property, however it’s important the property you invest in is suitable for your individual needs and tastes. That way once you have invested in your property you can sit back and enjoy your new home, or enjoy the assets that come with it.
