Thousands of arguments, hundreds of germs and one idea to solve them all.
The humble toilet has barely had any changes made since its invention in the 16th century. As there is no need to.. Or is there?
New Zealand’s The Kiwee Company have revolutionised the age-old issue of men leaving the toilet seat up. The handsfree application is hygienic, simple-to-use and easy to clean, but more importantly it does what every woman wants, and that is to have the toilet seat down everytime. No more complaints, arguments or name calling. Moreover, the applications for this technology where hygiene is a priority is endless.
“I was mid way through my MBA (2016) and wanted to start a business. I looked at different business ideas, but none were original. Then it dawned on me that we were sitting on a our own unshined diamond, “ explains Founder and Owner Billie Jo Ropiha.
“A quick google search of toilet seat lifters returned nothing of significance worldwide so I rung my dad and said let’s do it, let’s get the toilet seat lifter made! That was in September 2016, and now we have our product selling from our website.”
The Kiwee Lifter is Kiwi ingenuity at its finest, creating a simple, elegant solution to an age-old problem. And Billie Jo and her team are not stopping here, presenting at The Home Show on 5th-9th September and with many other exciting products coming out soon.
